The only challenge with this method is that you cannot use it around bends and drain junctions, and it’s only suitable for inspecting the main pipe line.
Robot Cam
This is a more advanced sewer camera inspection method. The robot camera does not require a remote to operate. Instead, the parameters of the sewer system need to be programmed into the device. After that, you only need to launch the robotic camera and it will follow the programmed parameters.
Lateral Launching Pipe Camera Inspection
Lateral launch cameras are mounted on crawlers that allow them to reverse if needed. A lateral launch inspection is when a sewer line that branches from the main line is inspected simultaneously with the main line itself. This is accomplished due to the fact that a lateral launch camera deploys a secondary camera that goes in the direction of the sewer line that branches out from the main line, but it can only reach up to 150 ft from the main line. The main line, on the other hand, can be inspected, but not beyond 1, 000 ft.
Other methods of pipe and drain inspection include dye testing, water air pressure testing, and water analysis.
